Florent Devos is a French-born, Australia-based gypsy jazz guitarist, composer, vocalist, and educator renowned for his electrifying virtuosity and deeply expressive style. With fiery passion, he channels Django Reinhardt’s legendary hot swing while weaving in vibrant Latin, flamenco, blues, and rock—creating a sound that's unmistakably his own.Starting on classical piano, Florent earned a Bachelor of Jazz Performance and drew early inspiration from Jimi Hendrix, Chuck Berry, and Stochelo Rosenberg. He quickly established himself as a leading figure in contemporary gypsy jazz, blending precise, dynamic guitar work (fluid arpeggios, rest-stroke picking, chromatic lines, and driving rhythm) with a warm voice that reinterprets French chanson standards by Édith Piaf and Charles Trenet.For over a decade, he's captivated audiences as bandleader and sideman across Asia, Australia, and Europe—from intimate clubs to major festivals—with infectious swing sets featuring originals and fresh takes on classics like 'Dark Eyes.' His live performances pulse with energy and emotional depth, leaving crowds enthralled.
